ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Welcome to the school section of the Yandina State School internet site.
Yandina State School is located on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland in a pleasant, semi-rural, coastal area. It is about 1.5 hours drive north of Brisbane. From our school oval we can see the magnificent Mount Ninderry to the east.

We have 280 students enrolled from Prep to Year 7, with 13 classroom teachers and specialist teachers in Italian, Music, Physical Education, Library and Learning Support.
We offer quality education programs across eight curriculum areas with strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy. Extensive sporting programs, the school choir, the instrumental music program, and the Drama Club all help to keep our students entertained and challenged.

We have three computer labs as well as computers in every classroom, all of which are network and Internet connected. Students benefit from having access to the latest technology, including scanners, CD writers, and digital cameras.
The school is also well supported by an active P & C Association and many volunteers work in our classrooms on a daily basis.
Community support and involvement in school activities, both extra curricular and academic, is high. We are proud to be a part of the Yandina community.
