PublishingPageContent

All Prep to Year 5 students will participate in Learn-to-swim lessons with a focus on water confidence, correct swim strokes and general water safety as a mandatory aspect of the Australian curriculum.

Learning to swim and survive is an essential part of the Health and Physical Education syllabus, and all students are expected to participate every day.

On day 1, the students will be placed in small groups according to ability, and lessons will be specific to their skill level. All swim groups will be taught and assessed by qualified swim instructors, and classroom teachers/teacher aides will be there to supervise and assist students out of the pool. Movement between swim groups may occur after initial placement if and when the swim instructor/s feel/s the need move a child up or down a level according to their performance during their lessons.
