Students in Years 5 and 6 have the opportunity to be a part of the Nambour District Inter-School sport program held in school curriculum time. It is usually held later in the year during Term 3 or 4 with all students attending. Sports may vary from year to year and students choose to be involved in ONE sport for the duration of the program.
For example, either Soccer, Oztag, Kanga/Cricket, Ultimate Frisbee, Australian Handball, Tee-ball. Students learn skills and play games against other local primary schools from the Nambour District. Transport to and from venues is via bus.
Additional Interschool Sporting competitions are also organised by many schools and sporting development organisations throughout the year, and our participation in these competitions is based on student interest and enthusiasm.
As information about various competitions is forwarded to the School, each opportunity is given consideration. Where there is enough student interest, if the expense is reasonable, and the time away from class is rational, then we enter the competition. In these circumstances a team coach and manager will be allocated and training will commence.
