Sparklers Shine Bright
Since beginning in 2020, the Yandina Sparklers Dance Program has become a much-loved part of school life at Yandina State School.
The program gives more than 120 students from Years 1 to 6 the opportunity to take part in weekly before-school dance lessons with a qualified dance teacher. Students develop their skills, confidence and creativity across a range of dance styles, including jazz, contemporary, musical theatre and lyrical dance.
Yandina Sparklers students regularly represent the school at competitions and eisteddfods, where the program has achieved multi-award-winning success. These events give students valuable performance experience while encouraging teamwork, commitment, discipline and school spirit.
The Sparklers are also a highlight at school showcases, end-of-year concerts and other school events. Their performances bring energy and excitement to the school community and provide students with opportunities to share their hard work with families, staff and fellow students.
The Yandina Sparklers Dance Program continues to be a wonderful example of students embracing opportunity, building confidence and shining on stage.
