Spartans Lead the Way in Rugby League
The Yandina Spartans rugby league program continues to go from strength to strength, with a large group of students proudly representing the school at a recent League Stars Challenge gala day.
With close to 100 students competing across eight teams, the day showcased not just skill, but the depth of participation and enthusiasm for rugby league at Yandina State School.
What stood out most was the way our students represented the school. Across every game and every team, Spartans demonstrated outstanding respect, teamwork, behaviour and resilience. Effort was consistent, attitudes were positive, and students supported one another from start to finish.
Teams were evaluated throughout the day using a scoring system focused on three core pillars: teamwork, behaviour and sportsmanship. These criteria aligned closely with what we value at Yandina State School—and our students delivered at a consistently high level.
As a result, Yandina State School finished equal first overall, a strong reflection of the collective effort and character shown by every player involved.
More importantly, the day reinforced what it means to be a Spartan. Our students didn’t just compete—they upheld a standard. They represented their school with pride and demonstrated the values of Family, Future and Friendship in action.
We are proud of every student who took part and the way they continue to build a positive and inclusive sporting culture at Yandina.
Go Spartans!
